The Mission of the Howard County Bar
Association, Inc. (HCBA) is to promote excellence in the practice of law
and the administration of justice through service, education, advocacy,
and collegiality for the benefit of the profession and the community.
VISION
The Howard County Bar Association, Inc.
(HCBA) is an organization dedicated to serving the cause of justice and
building respect and understanding for the Constitution of the United
States, the Constitution of the State of Maryland, and the laws thereof.
Our members include lawyers and judges
primarily engaged in the practice of law and the adjudication of cases
and controversies.
Howard County is a vital, growing community
which is representative of our country and our culture. Our
members are representative of the county. We seek to serve the
public by providing effective representation to all.
Through continued encouragement and
participation in civic and legal affairs, we hope to inspire respect for
the ideals of our society. Through ongoing efforts to sustain and
improve our ability and effectiveness, we hope to foster good
citizenship good government and enhance the legal profession.
If we hold to these goals, we enrich our own
lives and inspire others to do likewise.
The profession of law is proud and noble.
We seek to continue to strive for justice for all and are proud to be
accorded the honor to do so.
To sustain freedom, we must be faithful to
the law and see that it is the means to achieve justice and never an
instrument of suppression.
