TRAINING IN THE NEW CASE MANAGEMENT PROCEDURES FOR

THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF MARYLAND

Effective March 1, 2003, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland implements a new case management system.  It permits counsel to file documents and give notices electronically.  It will also provide 24-hour access to court documents.

The Office of the District Court Clerk has developed an orientation program regarding this system.  The James McGill Chapter of the American Inns of Court has arranged for the program to be presented at its last meeting for the 2002-03 year.  The Chapter invites any interested counsel to attend.  The program will be on Thursday, April 10, 2003, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The location is Linden Hall, 4765 Dorsey Hall Drive, Ellicott City.  Dinner will be served prior to the program and the cost of the event is $30.00 per person.

Master Elaine Patrick is coordinating the registration for the program.  To register, send a check for the designated amount payable to the James McGill Chapter of the American Inns of Court to her at the Howard County Circuit Court, 8360 Court Ave., Ellicott City, MD 21043.  Checks must be received by March 28, 2003.
