On January 6, 2020 the County Council announced the hiring of two new Board of Appeals Hearing Examiners.  One of them is our own local attorney, Katherine Taylor.  Each hearing examiner conducts quasi-judicial hearings of cases involving complex land use matters and regulatory compliance issues.  The hearing examiners routinely hear and rule upon matters that are appeals from an administrative agency decision, such as the Department of Planning and Zoning (“DPZ”).

Please join us for a Halloween version of our monthly membership meeting, where hearing examiner, Katherine Taylor, will lead us through the dark and secret and often times scary recesses of local administrative decision making of departments like the DPZ.
